When the new government legislation comes into force on the rescheduled new dates of 1st August 2007, selling your home through estate agents or any form of public domain advertising means you will have to apply for HIPS documentation. This is estimated to cost over three hundred pounds and due to demand could take more than several weeks to get your home inspected. You then will have to wait for the documentation to be delivered to you by post before you put your house up for sale.
